Application for Electric Service

A properly completed, signed, and filed Electric Service Agreement is required to receive electric service from Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative (GCEC). A separate Electric Service Agreement is required for each location where electric service is requested, regardless if it is a reconnection, existing meter, or new construction project. An Electric Service Agreement is considered filed when received by GCEC.

The Electric Service Agreement must be in the true name of the person(s) receiving electric service and suitable identity verification, such as a government ID or social security number, may be required.

Membership in the Cooperative

If an applicant is not a GCEC member, a membership application is required. New members must pay a refundable membership fee to receive electric service.

Offer To Purchase Electric Service

Upon compliance with the provisions of Tariff for Electric Service (PDF) Sections 301.1 and 301.2, the applicant has made an offer to purchase electric energy from the Cooperative, the terms of which are contained in the Electric Service Agreement, the Tariff, and any applicable easement.

A member can start receiving electric service at their location once the Membership Application, Electric Service Agreement, and membership requirements are filed and completed as applicable. Members must comply with GCEC Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation and/or policies.

Contribution in Aid of Construction

For new services, a member may need to to pay a contribution in aid of construction to install electric lines. Allowances and potential costs are listed in the Line Extension Policy.
